About The Online Community, What's New Workshop

This workshop will help you bridge the gap between the Higher Logic Classic interface so you'll be ready to use the New Admin Experience. This workshop is designed for those that are already familiar with the Online Communities Classic interface but need training on the New Admin Experience.

We'll explore new functionality and how to perform common tasks in the New Admin Interface so you'll be able to manage your Higher Logic site with confidence and ease. Workshop participants will have access to a sandbox site to practice their skills via hands-on exercises.


  • Manage the Page Designer/Content Management System (CMS):
    • How to create, edit, filter, sort, and move pages
    • Understand and use page states
    • How to build and maintain page layouts
    • Add and edit content (HTML, Links, Uploaded Files)
    • Use and configure Feed Widgets
  • Use the new data dashboards, community, and users list pages
  • Navigate in the New Admin Experience and perform common tasks

About The Intro to Google Analytics Workshop

Google Analytics is an incredibly robust, free tool for measuring web traffic data. In this workshop, you’ll get to know the basics of using Google Analytics to track and evaluate performance and draw insights to improve your business. Starting with basic terminology and key metrics, you’ll build a foundation of knowledge before diving deeper into more complex analytics techniques, including advertising tracking and custom segments. You’ll walk away with a fundamental understanding of Google Analytics’ role in running and operating your business.


  • Learn the basic setup, navigation, and interface of Google Analytics
  • Get acquainted with basic terminology and mathematical formulas to understand key metrics
  • Be able to identify the metrics that matter for your specific business case and how to use them to make educated decisions
  • Create custom segments, goals, URLs, dashboards and automated alerts
  • Learn to identify exceptions and surface actionable insights


This workshop is designed for anyone interested in harnessing the power of Google Analytics to make better business decisions. No prior knowledge or experience is required.

What to bring to class: All participants must bring their own laptop. Please also have Google Analytics accessible on your computer. Each participant should visit this webpage and click the link that says "Access Demo Account." We'll be using that data for demonstration in class.

Throughout the account creation, Google will prompt you to set up your website - if you don't have a website to track, simply enter the value "test" or "" where you'd normally enter information about a real website. The goal is to get you set up in Google Analytics so that you can add the Demo account during class.
