Creating a 'blank template' page on your HL website

This is easier to read at full screen.

So I was unable to attend the conference but I've gotten a few emails interested in how I setup landing pages on Engage.reading.org (our social networking site).  This is a step by step tutorial on creating a 'blank template' that you can drop your own HTML elements or HL's UserControls into any shape you want.

If you have any questions on the video tutorial feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to help.

This sort of thing does bring up the question? Should the HUG have a place on it for User Created videos like this?

Unfortunately if you just create a 'New' page in the 'edit navigation' area this will create a page without the 1-7 sections. They probably set it up this way because they assumed that you would only want to create a new page with the left column side-bar and 'stack' everything underneath. If you want the 1-7 sections you have to copy the Homepage, it's the only way (that I've found) to get that option.

This is great, Alex! I learned how to "hack" the style of a page, which is super awesome.
I noticed your frustration with deleting the content items one-by-one. Would this work the same way if you just created a new page and set the page layout to One over Two (60/40) over Three (which is the layout with 7 sections) or some other layout? That would be a huge time saver.
Thanks!
