My name is Shannon Emery and while I’ve been in the background here on HUG, I wanted to officially announce myself as your HUG Community Manager.
Over the years, HUG has been run by passionate Higher Logic employees who created this vibrant community. I am amazed by the discussions, knowledge sharing, and more. Now we are going to give HUG a hug.
Pretend HUG is the heart.
Before I go further, here’s a bit about me.
In my previous role, I consolidated, developed, and nurtured a 60,000-member community for nonprofit professionals using software and solutions. I’ve done almost everything one can do in community management: analytics, engagement campaigns, proving ROI, even some chair dancing, and I love each and every aspect.
I strive to keep the member at the center of any initiative or project that I kick off. This is your community after all. Without you, I’m just shouting into the void.

On a personal note, I have been described as a calculating but very nice person with an infectious energy. I’ve decided I’m the bubonic plague of cheerfulness at this point. I am rarely without a smile on my face and find each person I talk to incredibly fascinating.
I love to travel, have an adorable dog, and a partner that keeps me grounded and is key at getting me to disengage when I’m 20 minutes into a conversation with a LYFT driver. People have interesting stories, what can I say.
Here's the dog because if you take nothing away from this post, it should be Hermione's face:
All of that being said, I cannot wait to make HUG even better than it is today. Keep an eye out – exciting things are ahead!
Say hello in the comments below if you’ve made it this far! I would love to connect with each of you.
See you all around the HUG!
