Also known as a "Native App", this is a program designed for a specific mobile device.  The majority of apps are built for the iPhone, Android or Blackberry operating systems.  Windows mobile is also popular but mostly in Europe.

Angry Birds is a great example of a mobile app - albeit, non-business related.
