Hi
@Kim Harland,
I'll admit we took awhile to settle on a name.
Our process involved brainstorming words that came to mind when thinking about the purpose of the platform and how we were going to use it.
You will find it easy to come up with names that have already been done before , so think about how it works with your company brand and the name you have for other elements such as your EDM's. It's good if you can create a link between them all.
It is important to us that the platform is not seen as just a Marketing & Comm's project, so we had an internal working group that had a rep from each department. We want to ensure that we get staff's buy-in for the platform so we have engagement on the platform from across the company. The internal working group came up with the ideas and shortlist, then our executive team decided on the final name. Our members were not involved mainly due to time restraints.
I saw GP's created a brand suite. So for Higher Logic it was called ShareGP then they followed that through with NewsGP, RecruitGP etc. Simple but looks effective.
Good luck with naming!

Subject: Naming our Community
Hi All,
We are in the process of naming our community. How did you go about choosing yours?
Did you brainstorm it among the team? Or throw it out to just a select few? Were members/stakeholders involved? Or did you just pull a name out of a hat?
And what are the best community names you have heard?
Thanks
Kim
