Welcome to our first of many APAC HUG Community Spotlights. I am very excited to introduce our first community spotlight:
Organisation: AUSTRALIAN AND NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY of NUCLEAR MEDICINE (ANZSNM)
Community Name: NUCLEUS Community!
Community Manager: ESTER GÓMEZ, Marketing Manager
1. What was your main reason for launching an online community?
We wanted to create a stronger sense of community; hence, we felt having a platform such as a Nucleus would help us create a hub for all members to interact, network, engage with others, share their expertise, and ask questions...
2. How were you previously engaging with your members?
Mostly at face-to-face events and at their workplaces. With how the workplace and the way we network have dramatically changed in the last years, it felt like a natural progression to offer an online platform for our members to keep networking, especially during the pandemic.
3. What is your community's name and how long did it take you to decide on the name for your community?
Nucleus. It came to us naturally and did not take time at all as it is a symbol strongly connected to Nuclear Medicine as it has been used as part of our visual identity for a long time.
4. What have your members loved most about your online community?
The discussion forum and they are really liking now the mobile app, although there are a few issues with it we would like to see improved.
5. Do you promote your online community externally to your members? If so, how?
Yes, via the society's website (we post regular updates prompting members to have their say), social media (same as on the website), adverts on the Gamma Gazette (the society's official magazine), through monthly newsletters and other eDMs.
6. What do you as the community manager enjoy most about your community?
Seeing how that sense of community keeps growing and how members help others, how they take leadership roles by creating new communities (e.g. student committee). I really enjoy finding new ways to bring in new value to members through the community.
7. Please feel free to share any other information about your community?
Our community is relatively young but we are positive it will grow into a highly active and engaged community in the coming years.
8. If you could ask other Community Managers one question, what would it be?
What marketing tactic works best for you to keep bringing people back to your community?
Please feel free to ask
@Ester Gomez any questions and don't forget to answer Ester's question ->
What marketing tactic works best for you to keep bringing people back to your community?
Thank you @Ester Gomez for being our very first APAC HUG community spotlight.
